Give from your salary
A donation straight from your pay, before tax, so it costs you less than you give.
How it works
Payroll giving, sometimes called Give As You Earn, lets you donate to us directly from your salary. The donation comes out before Income Tax is worked out, so you get the tax relief automatically and we receive the full amount with nothing to claim back.
It’s the most efficient way to give to a charity our size. We don’t have to submit a Gift Aid claim, we don’t wait months for HMRC to process it, and we can count on it arriving every month.
What it costs you
Because the donation is taken before tax, giving £10 a month costs you:
| Your tax rate | £10 costs you |
|---|---|
| Basic rate | £8 |
| Higher rate | £6 |
| Additional rate | £5.50 |
We receive the full £10 either way. Many employers also match what their staff give, which could double your donation at no extra cost to you.
Setting it up
If your employer already runs a payroll giving scheme, ask your HR or payroll team where to sign up and tell them you’d like to support the Society for Abandoned Animals, registered charity 245426.
If they don’t run one yet, it’s free for employers to set up and takes very little admin. CAF are the UK’s largest payroll giving agency and can walk them through it.
You can start, stop or change your donation at any time, and there’s no minimum commitment.
